Week 3 Recap
I've been with Teaser for seven years, and during that time, I've never begun a season 0-3. It's a frustrating situation, things will get better, things have to get better. There are 18 weeks left, and as I remind those each and every year that are feeling discouraged, you're NEVER truly out of it. You might feel like it's over, but it's not. We've witnessed people who were down $2K+ between weeks 10 and 16 manage to break even or even finish in the green. As the great Jimmy V. said, "Don't give up, don't ever give up."
The NFL is bipolar this season. There is no other way to explain the following:
Case Keenum has the game of his life against the Eagles. A man who hasn't taken a snap in 3 years plays better than any QB in the league.
Marcus Mariotta beats the defending champs
Carson Wentz beats the Bears at home 9-3 in the rain
The Super Bowl runner ups got mollywhopped 35-6
Ravens in week 2 lose at home to the Saints. I don't care if the Saints are better this season, the Ravens +4 at home vs the Saints is what you call a "lock"
Packers look like a high school team against the 0-2 Falcons at home on TNF
Chargers are 0-3! Harbaugh is coaching like it's the 1970's
Kirk Cousins is back!
Browns are 2-1! Raiders are 3-0! Bears are 2-1! Giants are 2-1!
Week 4 the trend of the NFL being bipolar should continue. Tough to get a read on teams through three weeks.
Let's discuss Kyle G. (84-50 / $7,080.05) and the current situation in his camp. He's endured consecutive weeks of not only getting bloody but also facing the penalty pot. He's faced tougher situations in his life, as many of us can attest. This one is different, his back is up against the wall, people are starting to chirp, comments like "not who he used to be" are being mentioned around Lincoln Park. Like the rest of us who are 0-3, we're cornered and need to fight our way out. Beginning with a 0-4 record is out of the question for KG, he has to win this week.
Tom H. (22-22 / -$5,560.00) is currently our Comeback Player of the Year after three weeks. The transformation (not transition) he's experienced is incredible. It's comparable to Dan B.'s from years past, who had a similar start to his Teaser career. I bring up Tom H. weekly because it seems necessary given the last two seasons he's endured. He's been knocked down, beat up, mentally abused and has continued to get back in the fight. Starting off 3-0 is the best thing that could have happened to him. There's no pressure right now, he can build off the balance he has created. Great start!
The top 4 on the leaderboard went down this week leaving only three players who are 3-0. Nick W. (75-56 / -$1,895.00) , Sam C. (13-9 / -$1,660.00) and the formentioned Tom H. Don't blow the balance you have built up after three weeks. There is no pressure but their is pressure. The first place penalty pot is going to be fat this year, should be an all-time record the way things are heading.
A total of eight players are 0-3! I am one of them. Snap out of it, do what you have to do to get back on track. Find Jesus, pray or call one of those 1-800 betting numbers that guarantee wins. Find a way, adapt and overcome, get it done, whatever it takes.
Jimmy O. is still looking for that elusive first victory in his short lived Teaser League career. Congrats to Timmy O. on his first victory, he's about to hit a groove, I see it coming.
Great start to the season - Thanks to everyone for getting their picks in.
