Teaser League State of the Union

Thank you all for an amazing season! With fifty players, our league is truly impressive, and we've done an excellent job reaching this number. Teaser League is in a fantastic position right now, and I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone for participating this season and submitting your picks. While most of you enjoyed it, I'm sure some may have found this season challenging. Many of us can relate; being in the red all season can be frustrating and disheartening.
As we near the conclusion of Season VI for the Teaser League, we are also planning for the future. Having completed a full season with 50 players, I have decided to limit the league to 50 players again next season. Although I could increase the number, I prefer to have another season with 50 players, using the adjustments made this season (Base loss + penalty pot). I prefer the league to remain small enough to maintain its close-knit feel. I want to recognize every player and avoid asking myself, "Who is this person?" Establishing a connection with each player is crucial for this league, as it fosters tradition and history, which I wish to preserve.
This season was different from others—each week, the losers faced significant defeats, while the winners had to carefully strategize to gradually increase their bankroll. A single mistake could set you back $700-$800, and recovering that amount would take 2-3 weeks. This wasn't the case in the past five years. Therefore, I want another year with 50 players and the base loss/penalty pot to remain the same amount.
Again, I thank all of you for being apart of this league.
Seasons End Collection
After the Super Bowl, I plan to take a two-week break. Starting February 22nd, I will begin emailing those in the red individually to inform them of their outstanding amounts. I will provide a detailed breakdown to ensure complete transparency. I will specify to whom you should send your payment. Some of you will send it to me for distribution, while others will send it directly to a winner in the green. I aim to minimize the money going into my account, so please be patient. With 50 participants, it should take me 2-3 weeks to settle all payments, no longer than that.
Teaser League: Baseball
For the past three years, I've been brainstorming ideas for a Baseball Teaser League. Why? Because I love baseball, that's why. Additionally, I want some excitement during the spring and summer months.
I've finally discovered an excellent method to accomplish it. Here it is:
Each player selects 3 teams each week. Similar to football, you send a text or email stating "Cubs, Dodgers, Yankees." The weeks will run from Monday to Sunday, and all selections must be submitted by the first pitch on Monday.
Each team must win at least 50% of their games. If they fall below this threshold, you lose and must pay all the players who won. This is similar to Teaser League Football.
There will be two payout periods: one during the All-Star break and another following the World Series. You also have the option to opt out at the All-Star break.
This will be a trial run—I plan to limit the Baseball League to 15 players. We'll make real-time adjustments and modify as necessary. By the all-star break, we should have it fine-tuned.
Anyone who wants to join after the All-Star break can hop right on in.
If it ends up being a bomb then we'll just end it at the All-Star break. If we think we've figured out a way to make it work then we'll keep it going.
End of the State of the Union
Gentlemen, it has been a privilege to experience the challenges of Teaser League Season VI with you. As I often say, "The Journey is the Championship." Best of luck in the Super Bowl, and I'll send another email with the lines on February 5th.
