Gentlemen,
My body and liver are relieved that the Bears season has ended. This season took a significant toll, and if they had won, I would have been limping into the NFC Championship. What a game, what a season. I'm still amazed that Caleb made that throw off his back foot from the 40-yard line, it was the definition of a "dime". Kmet hardly had to move; it was like a Tecmo Bowl throw. The future looks promising, so let's enjoy it. As always, Bear Down!
This week, we are selecting two, and the spreads are +6. It becomes a bit more challenging. Next week, we will choose one, and the spreads remain unchanged, just straightforward spreads and O/U's as they are.
***ALL PICKS need to be in by 2pm CT on Sunday - Don't forget, please.***
Pennant Races
Currently, it's a showdown between Marco R. and Jon B. at the top. If either wins this week, they secure a 1st or 2nd place finish. Finishing in first or second ensures a share of 13% or 10% of the penalty pot.
The pressure is intense because if both falter, it gives an opportunity to the five players trailing them. For these five to have a chance at the title, they must win this week and hope both Marco and Jon lose.
Bill P.
This guy continues to win consistently. He has broken the all-time winning streak record, which was 10, by achieving 12 consecutive victories. His season record stands at 16-4. Two of those losses cost him $1680; if each loss had been around $400-$500, he would be comfortably in 3rd place, receiving 8% of the penalty pot. The losses this year have been devastating.
Island Boy
This weekend, I found myself as an Island Boy, and the Chi/LAR over pushed me into the penalty pot, plus the Bears lost. It was a rough weekend. I haven't been an Island Boy or hit the Penalty Pot all season. It's frustrating.
Teaser League State of the Union Address
Next week, I plan to set the foundation for the next season and share some ideas I have.
Good luck this week!
