Jon B. whacks Jackie Jr to take over 1st place after 14 weeks

Jackie Jr.'s stint in first place was short-lived, lasting just a week before the first place jinx struck. In the first 14 weeks, we've seen a rotation of leaders: Dan B., Peter H., Jackie Jr., Jon B., and John N. (who was either in first for a week or at least tied at some point). This season has been tough, with losses hitting harder than in previous seasons, as weekly losers are taking a significant beating.

Jon B. has claimed the top spot with his 74th career Teaser League win, securing a strong grip on first place. He currently holds an $800 lead, though we've witnessed such leads vanish quickly this season with just one loss. The well-known TNFDD'er has 8 weeks left to maintain his lead. At this rate, he's on track for a $5600 payout—no pressure whatsoever.

Jonny "Cakes" is a veteran in the Teaser League, now in his sixth year. His record stands at 74-49, including this season's wins and losses. Although he hasn't won the league yet, he's up $4,700 over his career, factoring in this season's earnings. If there is anyone to hold to a first place lead this season it might be him. No pressure.

The Quiet Bunch

Robert E.

Currently on a 5-game winning streak, he has made a significant turnaround this season. Before Season VI, he had a 22-22 record over two seasons, with a loss of $3600. This season, however, he's improved to 11-3, gaining $2100. He's working to overcome the reputation of being the only player to lose all 4 picks in a single week. Winning the championship would be a remarkable comeback story.

Bill P.

Who the heck is Bill P.? This guy goes 14-7, wins $1500 back in 2021, and then vanishes. He returns five seasons later and all he does is win in Teaser. He's currently on a five-game winning streak after beginning with a 4-4 record. He's up $960.00 and is feeling confident.

Tom P.

Who on earth is Tom P.? The newcomer began with a 0-2 record and was likely experiencing a moment of panic, being down -$1520 at the start of the season. However, since then, he has made a comeback, achieving an 11-1 record over the past 12 weeks. He might just be a dark horse to win it all this season.

Jason & Nick = Kanye & Kim

For a pair of guys who were close to "breaking up" following their Week 7 loss due to the Raiders, they seem to have worked things out. I had to step in for some marriage counseling. I believe it was due to one of them thinking that picking the Raiders was a good idea.

They are inconsistent, having begun the season with a 5-0 record, then losing 2 out of 3 games, only to go on another five-game winning streak. This unpredictable pair might have found their rhythm, but we'll have to wait and see after their next loss to determine how things unfold for them.

Sal "The Survivor"

If you ever encounter Sal P., make sure to shake his hand and hope some of his luck rubs off on you. He has won consecutive survivor championships. The exact amount he earned is not to be disclosed in writing.

I'll say this: it was a bit of luck but mainly determination and strategy. The luck came from the Bears vs Giants game. He was on the brink of losing, and he knows it. Once he got through, he texted me saying, "I see a path." His foresight was accurate, leading to this week. It was impressive to watch it all unfold as he had predicted. Congrats, Sal.

Vampire Update

Vampire is beginning to gain momentum. It was challenging to locate the blood for the initial nine weeks, but in the past five weeks, some players have managed to find it. Berkley S. is among them and is excelling in Vampire. John F. is another contender, having successfully made blood picks in 3 of the last 4 weeks. Robert E. has secured consecutive wins, putting him in the competition. The payouts are as follows:

1st place - $500.00

2nd place - $300.00

3rd place - $100.00

Penalty Pot Update

As of now we're on pace for $7,700. The goal is still $10K. We haven't had many 2 or 3 losers this season. I think we've only had one week where we had players lose 3 of the 4 picks, usually by week 14 we've had 4 or 5 weeks of that. We just had a week where five teams got bloody and only had two people end up in the penalty pot. $7,700 is still a good number and it should rise once playoffs start, hopefully.

Gearing up for the final stretch

Alright, we have 8 weeks left until the season ends. That's still quite a while. It's good to see no one is $3K in the red, but currently, we have 8 players $2K in the red. For newcomers, believe me when I say you can make a comeback when the playoffs begin. The playoffs are where the money is. Once the wild card round over/unders are in play, the spread narrows, and it's a different scenario. With fewer teams to pick from, the competition intensifies.

Keep fighting and keep grinding. You can't lose if you don't quit. Adapt and overcome. Whatever you have to tell yourself to get focused and stack some wins, find a way.

Spreads will be out on Thursday morning, good luck!
